We’re having twins!
You might have read on one of my other blogs that we have twins on the way! We’re both overjoyed and really looking forward to excitement that this is going to bring. I’m not saying it’s not going to be a challenge, even the fact that we need to buy two of everything is going to be fun, two cots, two sets of toys, even to NCAA jerseys when they’re the right age.
Anyway, it’s great that both of us are so happy about this. All our family and friends are offering their support and it feels great to be wished well by our community of friends, especially as they are all over the world. We’ll keep you posted with the news
Need to update Arthur’s blog
Hmm, I just realised that Arthur’s blog really needs some new photos. He’s grown loads since the batch of photos we have on there and things have really changed. He’s out of baby clothes now and he’s even going to school. Actually, he’s going to the local Montessori school and he’s really enjoying it.
Amazing how fast they grow isn’t it? Won’t be long before he’s off to university .. or out in the working world. I wonder what he’ll become when he grows up ..
Ideas for Christmas presents
Well, Christmas is just round the corner (well, close enough), so I’ve been keeping my eyes open for different ideas as to what we can get him. One idea I came across whas that of personalized books just like the ones down at Frecklebox. You get get ones with all sort of different things in it, like stories and pictures and even personalised placemats (like the picture I’ve included here).
Even though Arthur is still two, he can recognise and even spell out his name, even if he can’t write it out yet. I would prefer to get him something like this than plain baby clothes, as he can build more of an emotional attachment to it and it’s something he can take forward with him; rather than grow out of.
Leaving .. on a jet plane .. just for the weekend
We’re spending a weekend in London to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary. The plan is to have dinner, go to the theatre and spend the night in London while the in-laws look after Arthur. We haven’t really booked anything yet, but are planning to either watch Wicked or Les Miserables. Trying to find a good deal on tickets is rather hard though, and I really don’t have much time to look around.
Should be a smooth journey as I’m only taking hand luggage. The airlines have been getting silly with baggage recently. Apparently you get charges extra to take sports equipment like skis on board now. The one thing I’m really waiting for it to be able to get Internet on planes. With satellite internet services being so ubiquitous around the world it’s quite surprising they haven’t cracked that one yet. The question is, how much would they charge for the privilege?
